Where Can I Get Rent Assistance or Eviction Help in Indiana?

  • Indiana courts: pre-eviction diversion. The Indiana courts' Help with Housing page says the court should explain this program. That applies if an eviction case is filed against you. If you and your landlord agree to take part, the case can be marked confidential and stopped for 90 days. The judge will explain the program at your first hearing.

  • IndianaHousingNow.org. This is a free state website for renters and property managers in Indiana. You can search for affordable, accessible and market-rate housing. For help, call 1‑877‑428‑8844 (toll free), Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 7:00 pm Central.

  • Community action agencies. Indiana has 22 community action agencies (local groups that work to reduce poverty). They serve people who qualify by income in all 92 counties. Their programs differ.
