Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Service gives free legal help for disputes between renters and landlords, and for getting back a security deposit. It does not take eviction cases about unpaid rent, because those move too fast for its process. You must have low income and live in a county it serves. It does not serve Allegany, Caroline, Dorchester, Kent, Montgomery, Prince George's, Queen Anne, or Talbot counties, though it sometimes still helps there too.
