Idaho Housing and Finance Association runs the Housing Choice Voucher program (rent help for qualified low-income renters). The program pays part of your rent to your landlord. It serves 34 of 44 Idaho counties. Other housing authorities run it in Ada County, the city of Pocatello, and Adams, Canyon, Elmore, Gem, Owyhee, Payette, Valley and Washington counties. Apply to them there. Anywhere else, apply online or ask for a paper application. The wait can be several months to more than 2 years. Main office: 208-331-4700.
