Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada gives legal help to people who cannot afford a lawyer. For questions about evictions, tenant rights, or housing, call its eviction prevention hotline at 702-386-1070. Its Landlord/Tenant Ask-A-Lawyer program offers free phone advice from a volunteer lawyer to tenants without a lawyer. The office is at 725 E. Charleston Blvd., Las Vegas.

The Civil Law Self-Help Center helps renters in Clark County represent themselves in court, no matter their income or citizenship status. Staff give court forms, information, and referrals, but cannot give legal advice. Visit civillawselfhelpcenter.org or go to 200 Lewis Avenue in downtown Las Vegas. It is open Monday to Thursday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., except court holidays.

If your eviction case is in the Las Vegas Justice Court, you can file your Answer (your written response) online at efilenv.com. You can also file in person at the Customer Service Division, on the first floor of the Regional Justice Center. The court is at 200 Lewis Avenue, Las Vegas. Phone: (702) 671-3116. Help is once every 12 months, unless Social Services finds a barrier to employment, or you have a disability as Social Security defines it. The Eviction Diversion Program helps renters facing eviction for not paying rent at the Las Vegas, Henderson, and North Las Vegas Justice Courts. You must be 62 or older, or receive SSI (Supplemental Security Income) disability payments. You must also file your tenant answer within the notice period. A Legal Aid Center lawyer represents you, and Clark County Social Services connects you to rental assistance (money to help pay rent).
